Have you ever fired off a quick prayer to God? Have you ever worried about a family member and asked God to change them? Believe it or not our prayers carry weight. EVERY TIME you and I pray we unleash more and more power from the throne of God. There was a pastor just outside of Chicago who tells about an interesting experience after a baptism service in their church. He writes: “I bumped into a woman in the stairwell who was crying. I thought this was a little odd, since the service was so joyful. I asked her if she was all right. She said, ‘No.’ She said, I’ve been praying for a family member for 20 years and at times, I almost gave up. At the 5-year mark I said, “Who needs this? God isn’t listening.” At the 10-year mark I said, “Why am I wasting my breath?” At the 15-year mark I said, “This is absurd.” At the 19-year mark I said, “I’m just a fool.” But I just kept trying, kept praying. Even with weak faith I kept praying. I reached the 20^th year. Then that family member gave here life to Christ, and she was baptized today. That person was my mother. I will never doubt the power of prayer again. Are you praying for someone in your family to believe? Every prayer you pray puts more and more pressure on that person to listen to God. Every prayer you pray imparts to them more and more power from God. Every prayer you lift up to God brings God’s power to bear on difficult people and situations.

Who has God just brought to your mind to pray for?

Will you stop and pray for them right now?

Invite them to church this week!
